Hey,

Castlevania To Slay In Theaters

Castlevania is coming to big screens everywhere! The video game franchise which has been around since the NES days (do kids even know what a NES is anymore? It's like a Nintendo Wii only OLDER) and now is set to come to life in 2008.

Castlevania is about a Transylvanian knight who leads his men into a gothic castle to seek refuge from the Turkish army. The knight soon discover the castle is controlled by the original vampire. The script sets up the a generational clash between Vlad the Impaler (that's the real life original vampire) and the Belmont family (Simon Belmont is Castlevania's lead character), the clan that unleashed the original vampire and battles to defeat him.

The movie is scripted by Paul W.S. Anderson. He's the guy who did great movies like Aliens Vs. Predator, Soldier, Event Horizon, and the list could go on. Anderson did write and direct the great Resident Evil movie, but then he botched by writing the not-so-wonderful Resident Evil 2.

Hope comes that the film isn't being directed by Paul W.S. Anderson but by Sylvain White. He's the guy who directed Stomp the Yard - the great movie that was like Drumline meets You Got Served vs. Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo. If that didn't sell you the movie actually did rock hard.

The man who will direct Frank Miller's Ronin for Warner Bros. will shoot Castlevania next - shooting begins this fall in South Africa and Romania. "Most of the vampire films have been present or set in the future, from 'Blade' to 'Underworld,' and I was attracted by the chance to make a dark, epic period movie that almost has an anime feel to it," White said.

was denkt ihr darüber?
