Schwacher Verkaufsstart von Wii in Südkorea
Nintendo konnte in Südkorea bislang etwa 35.000 bis 40.000 Wii verkaufen, nachdem die Konsole am 26.04.08 auf den Markt kam. Der Absatz liegt unterhalb dessen, was Nintendo prognostiziert hatte.
Zu den Gründen für das geringe Interesse gehört eine Regionalsperre in Wii, wodurch nur südkoreanische Spiele auf der Konsole laufen. Da das Spieleangebot in Südkorea allerdings mager ist, halten sich die Käufer zurück. Besonders Intensivspieler wollen gerne japanische Spiele auf Wii laufen lassen, was allerdings nicht geht.

Irgendwie glaube ich Nintendos Ausrede mit Wii Fit nicht mehr, weil 2 Wochen lang keine Nachlieferung ist schon mehr als ungewöhnlich, hab so ein wenig den Verdacht dass die Briten nicht so aus das Spiel stehen :>

Mir ist grad aufgefallen, MKW (5,12m), Mario Party 8 (5,20m) und SSBB (5,38m) sind sehr nah beieinander. Denke ma MK Wii kriegt MP8 diese Woche und nächste Woche dann SSBB, wird dann interesant zu sehen sein wieviel Vorsprung MK Wii innerhalb der verbleibenden 3 Wochen bis zum EU Release schafft, weil SSBB wird riesig.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare hat nun die magische 10 Millionen Marke geknackt. Dies gab Infinity Wards Vince Zampella gegenüber News.com bekannt.
Zwar konnte Zampella keine genauen Angaben machen - wie oft sich das Spiel auf welcher Plattform verkauft hat (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) - erwähnte dabei jedoch, dass das Spiel auf der Xbox 360 am erfolgreichsten gewesen wäre.
Somit ist Call of Duty 4 eines von insgesamt 10 Spielen, die dies in den letzten 8 Jahren geschafft haben.

Released 2 weeks after the new Indiana Jones film, and on the back of a successful run of Lego-themed Star Wars titles, LucasArts claims top spot for the first time since ‘Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy’ back in W38 2006. Sales are split relatively evenly across the formats with the Wii version the most successful, while the PS2 version outsells the PS3 version (Wii 27%, Xbox 360 22%, PS2 20%, PS3 17%, DS 13%, PC 2. All versions (except PC) top their respective charts with GTA IV down to No2 on Xbox 360 and PS3. GTA IV only just manages to grab No2 in the All Formats Chart after a 44% drop in sales, pressured by Codemasters’ ‘Race Driver: GRID’ which has to settle for a drop of one place to No3 (3,000 sales separating it from GTA IV). Die Wertungen meinten es gut mit Steven Spielberg's Knobelspiel, jedoch sieht's in den Verkaufscharts ganz anders aus. Gerade einmal 60.000 Exemplare konnten in den USA bisher verkauft werden, was eventuell aber auch auf die momentan starke Konkurrenz im Spielemarkt zurückzuführen ist.
