There's no denying that Real Bout Fatal Fury Special is one smooth one on one fighter. And barring a release of Garou: Mark of the Wolves, it will likely be some time before SNK releases a better fighting game on the Wii Virtual Console. If you like your brawlers fast, furious, and hip deep in combos and defensive moves, you're gonna love this intense and rather well-rounded SNK fighter.

Let's face it, Metal Slug X is pretty much the game that Metal Slug 2 should have been all along. It basically takes what was a flawed but extremely well designed run and gun and fixes all of the problems while still managing to toss in a few new goodies as well. If you're a fan of this type of game then there's absolutely no reason to miss this amazing title; it remains one of the genre's all-time best efforts, even after more than a decade.

It's been a long wait, but WiiWare fans can now finally get their hands on this lesser known indie classic. Beating it can be an incredibly daunting task for less experienced players, but despite all of the difficult puzzles and fights there are lots of features that make the experience much less frustrating than you'd think it would be. With this title's significant size, if you can't beat one area you can just go to another first, so there are always options to progress. The lack of DLC is a bit of a disappointment, but the basic game is still, in a word: perfect.

Successfully Learning English: Year 4 continues exactly where its predecessors left off, but does bring a welcome boost in challenge for young pupils. The exercises are all competent, and the Bonus Game provides a brief distraction even if it's lacking the good design needed to make it compulsive. Overall it does little wrong, but also highlights that this is a series that would benefit from a fresh approach.

While not quite the significant upgrade some Neo Geo fans were expecting, Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 does exactly what the final release in a series should do by taking everything good from past releases and just basically smoothing out all of the rough edges. Given the amount of polish and balancing this title offers, it might just be worth a purchase, even for gamers who've already dropped the change for RBFF Special.

World Heroes Perfect certainly doesn't stand up to some of the top tier Neo Geo fighting titles like Garou: Mark of the Wolves or the King of Fighters series, but it's still a very capable and enjoyable fighting game experience for those willing to put up with its minor eccentricities. A wealth of over-the-top special moves coupled with flashy visual presentation definitely makes the game worth a try for fans of the genre. It's easily the best of the World Heroes series and a worthwhile addition to the Virtual Console.

Welcome to the farm in the forest. Help Gert the cockerel, Bla the donkey, Rosi the pig and Susi the sheep to find their friend Tom the cat.

He has probably lost his way in the forest. The four friends set off and experience a number of different adventures. They need your help and that of the bear, the master of the forest, to overcome many obstacles. They arrive at an abandoned house, have to repair a boat, use this to catch fish, prepare wood, make a fireplace and grill the fish. Can you help them find their friend Tom?

ACHTUNG WICHTIGE MITTEILUNG

Donkey Kong Country-Reihe verschwindet aus dem Wii-Shop



Nintendo Deutschland hat im europäischen Wii-Shop verkündet, dass am 25.11.2012 die gesamte Donkey Kong Country-Reihe für die Virtual Console auf der Nintendo Wii verschwinden wird. Ab Ende November wird man also die 16 Bit-Hits Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy´s Kong Quest und Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! nicht mehr herunterladen können.

Eine offizielle Begründung zu dieser Maßnahme hat Nintendo Deutschland natürlich nicht veröffentlicht. Eventuell handelt es sich aber hierbei wieder einmal um Probleme mit den entsprechenden Lizenzrechten.

King of Fighters '96 has long been considered a rather significant step forward in the series and given the decrease in projectile cheapness and a more evenly balanced cast of fighters, it's easy to see why. There's no denying that King of Fighters '98 is most likely still the pinnacle of the series, but there's just something enjoyable about the streamlined and responsive gameplay in this third release that will keep many players coming back for more. But if you've gotten used to the greater depth of later releases, this one might feel like too much of a step backward.

The endless debate over whether The Last Blade or its sequel is the better fighter continues to this day. Some will tell you that the silky smooth gameplay of the original will always win out, but there are those who feel the additions and higher quality audio in the sequel give it the edge. Regardless of this seemingly endless argument, the truth is that you can't go wrong with either game as the Last Blade series is one of the best fighting franchises available for any system. Suffice it to say, if you enjoyed The Last Blade, you're going to find a lot of entertainment in this sequel - even if you ultimately decide that you prefer the original.
