Call of Cthulhu is the Dark Next-Gen Project From Sherlock Dev Frogwares

Focus Home Interactive has revealed the very first production art and not a lot else for Sherlock developer Frogwares' Call of Cthulhu, a next-gen project with distinctly dark Lovecraftian overtones.

"The very first production arts for Call of Cthulhu - the video game by Frogwares (PC and Next-Gen Consoles)," Focus declared on its Twitter page, showcasing a selection of almost impenetrably dark images of forests, graveyards, caverns and deserted manor houses.

It all looks positively spine-tingly dingling. And with Focus Home Interactive confirming the game for 'next-gen consoles', you'll be more than likely seeing it for Xbox One. That's all we know for now. Enjoy the lovely images below.

Spricht mich persönlich schon mal auf den ersten Blick ziemlich an. Mal schauen was daraus wird.

Erst habe ich gedacht, der Name vom neuen Call of Duty wurde falsch geschrieben.

Bin gespannt, wie das Spiel genau in das Necronomicon und speziell den Cthulhu-Mythos eingebunden wird. Diese Gruft mit den erhängten Menschen sieht schon sehr stimmig aus. Ob es am Ende etwas wird, ist halt fragwürdig. Nur weil das Konzept gut und die Vorlage hervorragend ist, hat man (leider) keine Garantie, dass es das Spiel am Ende auch ist. Zudem frage ich mich, was es genau werden soll. First-Person wie Amnesia oder doch eher Third-Person wie The Evil Within? Reiner Survival-Horror oder mit Action?

Das wird bestimmt was für Eternal Darkness-Fans. Das Spiel war ja auch schwer von dem ganzen Cthulhu-Kram inspiriert.

Alles was ich über Cthulhu weiß, hab ich aus South Park. Trotzdem behalte ich das Spiel mal im Auge, auch wenn ich keinen Plan habe, worum es eigentlich geht.

Ansonsten sieht es stimmig aus, wird aber vorerst nicht weiter beachtet.

Ich bin mal gespannt, ob es ein Adventure oder ein Action-Adventure wird oder vielleicht so was wie Amnesia. Bisher ist ja noch nicht mal das Genre bekannt, sondern nur, dass es ein neues Cthulhu-Spiel geben wird.
Vielleicht orientieren sie sich ja auch an Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. Was damals ein wirklich ziemlich gutes Horrorspiel war, was teilweise ziemlich intensiv war. So musste man aufpassen, dass der Charakter im Spiel nicht total verrückt wird, weil er sonst sogar Selbstmord begang. Also schon heftig ;-D
