Forgotten Worlds (Mega Drive) 800 Points
    Shooter
    6.0

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...1015/large.jpg
Forgotten Worlds falls into place far from the level of excellence seen in the Wii Shop's best shooter options, as it's mostly forgettable and its compromised control in this remapped Genesis edition (then remapped again for the Virtual Console) isn't as fluid and inviting as the coin-op cabinet's original rendition. But its two-player co-op mode, its likably goofy flying shirtless heroes and the fact that you can attack in any direction might just add up to a justified purchase for some shooter fans looking for something a little different on the VC. If it sounds like something you'd be at all interesting in, don't feel bad putting down eight bucks to give it a shot. If you want to play things safer with your digital cash, look to some of the more memorable series in the Wii Shop, like Gradius or R-Type.

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...2412/large.jpg
It's a shame that the nagging slowdown in the game basically drags down what would otherwise be a near-perfect run-n-gun title. It's really the only negative aspect to be found throughout the game, but sadly it's a pretty significant problem when it's all said and done. The game is still a very enjoyable action title, but it won't take you long to realize why SNK would basically create an updated version of this very same game with the release of Metal Slug X. Metal Slug X basically takes this amazing game and fixes many of the slowdown issues that plagued it. If you really want to enjoy this game to the fullest, you might want to wait for SNK to release Metal Slug X on the Virtual Console.

Space Invaders: The Original Game (SNES) 800 Points
    Shooter
    4.0

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...4201/large.jpg
So what you get in this package is by no means bad -- a solid conversion of single-player Space Invaders, multiple graphical options and an interesting added multiplayer mode. It's just that, even with the added bells and whistles, it's still too hard to justify spending a full eight dollars for Space Invaders. You might have happily dropped 32 quarters into one of the original coin-op cabinets if you were around and gaming three decades ago, but today that same amount of cash should buy a much larger amount of content in a Wii download.

If you're a diehard Invaders addict and the prospect of having a version of the game selectable from your Wii's channel array seems terribly exciting to you, then by all means invest the Points. But everyone else, save them. Spend them on a more fully-featured 800 Point download from the SNES or Genesis libraries, or else just keep them in reserve for Taito's own Space Invaders Get Even when it finally arrives in the hopefully not-too-distant future.

Art Style: Rotohex Preis: 600 WiiPoints

    ign score: 8.0

    http://www.wiiware-world.com/images/...3738/large.jpg
Six dollars doesn’t get you a whole lot beyond a simple, addictive puzzle game, but Art Style: Rotohex has enough to make the purchase worth it. Of the three games in the Art Style series this one fits comfortably between the stunning Obient and the abstract Cubello. Complain all you want that there’s no online support or additional single player options, but that’s not keeping Rotohex from being fun as hell and one heck of a bargain on the Wii.

    http://www.wiiware-world.com/images/...3011/large.jpg
Engine Software has announced that it has started work on its first project for the WiiWare service. Originally dubbed “Project Bang!”, and later renamed just "Bang!", the debut title will be a casual game that is described as feature addictive gameplay using the console’s motion sensitive controllers; it will also support a two-player battle mode.

Pit Crew Panic! Preis: 500 WiiPoints
    Racing
    keine Wertung

    http://www.wiiware-world.com/images/...3989/large.jpg
There's no denying that Hudson really took a chance when they stripped away the actual racing action and instead developed an entire WiiWare game around the pit crew experience instead, not to mention the fact that they tossed in some of the wildest and most out-of-place vehicles they could think of for gamers to repair throughout the game. While Pit Crew Panic! might not be the type of gaming experience most people are expecting, the end result is a playable, albeit rather repetitive WiiWare title that might surprise those who are adventurous enough to actually give it a try.

Strong Bad Episode 4 - Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective Preis: 1000 WiiPoints
    Adventure
    ign score: 8.5

    http://www.wiiware-world.com/images/...4137/large.jpg
Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People has been consistently entertaining, and Dangeresque 3 is another great graphic adventure. This episode is more cinematic, and while I love the minimal Casio tunes of the previous chapters, Dangeresque's more ambitious spy soundtrack is aces. Both Telltale and Homestar creators the Chapman brothers have really taken the time to craft the games that Homestar fans want to play. If you aren't one of those fans you'll probably be pretty lost here, but few licensed games get this much TLC.

Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure (Mega Drive) 800 Points
    Action-Jump'n Run
    6.0

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...972/medium.jpg
Boogerman was a fine idea for a mid-'90s video game superhero, as in that era you needed to do whatever you could to get your game to stand out from the crowd -- the platforming genre was incredibly popular, and it was definitely difficult to distance your product from your competitors'. But his gross-out theme just isn't strong enough to stay interesting beyond that first few minutes, as the novelty of seeing a hero be so nasty wears out quickly when you realize the gameplay is just as standard as any other cookie-cutter platformer from that same 16-bit age. Boogerman isn't a bad game, and if you're finding yourself captivated by the concept for whatever reason, it's not the worst way to spend 800 Wii Points. But I'd recommend you save that eight bucks for a better adventure -- maybe Interplay's own Earthworm Jim, or Earthworm Jim 2, which is also coming soon to the Virtual Console.

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...6191/large.jpg
This is essentially the same classic game, with a number of tweaks and a bit of polish, but those tweaks are significant and are enough to make this title the best in the series by a mile, and easily one of the best games available for the C64. If you missed Last Ninja 3 the first time around, make it an immediate Virtual Console download while you have the chance.

Impossible Mission II (C64) 500 Points

    keine Wertung

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...1029/large.jpg
Impossible Mission II is a solid update of a classic game, with plenty of worthwhile additions and tweaks, but there's a slight sense that the purity of the game has been lost, that it doesn't need all these bells and whistles when there's such compelling core gameplay. However, that core gameplay is still present in the newer game, and is still just as compelling; the original title is a more immediate and solid gaming experience, but the sequel is more polished, more varied and possibly more fun to play. Take your pick.

World of Goo Preis: 1500 WiiPoints
    GeschicklichkeitPuzzle
    ign score: 9.5

    http://www.wiiware-world.com/images/...2571/large.jpg
World of Goo is an amazing WiiWare game that you simply must buy, for this is exactly the type of software that needs both recognition and support. A three-man team has created a title that is not only significantly cheaper than most retail Wii games, but a hell of a lot better in every regard, from concept to execution. It's packed full of brilliant, challenging levels. It's gorgeous. It's got beautiful music. And it controls really well. So if you value any or all of these qualities, and hopefully you do, you should be delighted to know that Nintendo's downloadable service is about to rock your world, goo style.

Art Style: Orbient Preis: 600 WiiPoints
    Action/Puzzle
    ign score: 8.5

    http://www.wiiware-world.com/images/...2423/large.jpg
Orbient is exactly the kind of game that I want out of WiiWare: high concept, experimental games at an affordable price. And the fact that the experiment is a huge success just seals the deal: for six bucks you get one of the most clever, engaging games to never hit the US Game Boy Advance. You've never played anything like Orbient, and hopefully this trend will continue with future Art Style games from Nintendo.

    Sudoku Challenge! Preis: 500 WiiPoints

    ign score: 4.5

    http://www.wiiware-world.com/images/...3123/large.jpg
You're getting what you spend: five bucks gets you playable Sudoku on the Wii. But you can't expect me to believe that is wasn't within the programmer's time or budget to put in a "save progress" option when you've already spent an hour or more on a single puzzle. I don't want to lock down my system for as long as it takes to solve the puzzle, and that's what this game expects you to do.

    9.0

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...1998/large.jpg
As with other well-regarded classic games that have come to the Virtual Console, it would be easy to continue to sing Secret of Mana's praises for many more pages -- there are many more reasons it's been named to the Top 100 Games of All Time, so many times, over the years. But the important point to make is that Secret of Mana is well worth your notice, and your investment of 800 Wii Points. For just eight bucks, you can rediscover (or experience for the first time) one of Squaresoft's most loved 16-bit SNES classics. And, better still, you can play it in an improved form -- it's easier to experience the incredible multiplayer capability of this game through its VC version than it ever was on the SNES. So grab two friends, put down your cash, and enjoy. You'll love finding out just what Mana's secret really is.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Master System Edition) 500 Points
    Jump'n Run
    8.0

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...3957/large.jpg
Most Wii owners will undoubtedly write off this edition of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Virtual Console, either because they'll just be confused by its title or because they'll erroneously assume that it's a technically inferior port of the Genesis classic with the same name. It's not. Anyone who brushes this one off is doing themselves a disservice, because Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the Master System game, is entirely its own adventure and is well worth its asking price of only five dollars. For those off you out there still burned by the lack of quality in Sonic's latest adventures, do yourself a favor and put down 500 Wii Points for a download of this hidden gem from the hero's early years. Its name is confusing, but its fun factor is clear.

Fun! Fun! Minigolf provides a satisfying first time play through on the easy difficulty holes and will frustrate you to no end if you are up to the challenge of figuring out all of the harder 18 holes. Minigolf fans will enjoy the challenge, but for everyone else this game is of average entertainment value. It is, in many ways, just another puzzle game for Wiiware. There are only one or two "solutions" to each hole, and your challenge is to figure them out. Once you have done so, the game has little in the way of repeat play value. The problem-solving aspect isn’t a bad thing, however; if anything, it’s the only reason to keep coming back. We just wish the game offered more of a reason to encourage repeat play than the high difficulty level.

Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People has been consistently entertaining, and "8-bit is Enough" is a more than fitting sendoff. This episode is truly bizarre, but still very funny. Both Telltale and Homestar creators the Chapman brothers have really taken the time to craft the games that Homestar fans want to play. Even if you're not a fan, if you enjoy retro gaming you'll probably be amused by all the 8-bit gags here. It's a little disappointing knowing there isn't a new Strong Bad episode waiting for us next month, but we're happy to have had the chance to try and handle his style.

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...3894/large.jpg
Fans of arcade shooters like Galaga should be the first to consider the 500 Wii Point investment that it would take to download Donkey Kong 3, as, though it?s part of the original DK series, it plays more similarly to the alien-invading blaster designs of the early ?80s. This VC download is also a more compelling digital purchase than the Virtual Console versions of the first Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr., as well, because it?s a more replayable design and didn?t lose any content in its transition from the arcade to the NES.

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...2324/large.jpg
Philosophy students and aspiring monks need to download Enduro Racer straight away in order to have their perspectives on existence informed by its ending sequence's introspective musings, but the rest of we Wii owners can easily get along without it. Its isometric motorcycling gameplay is fair, but it's nothing like the arcade game it's named after and a more robust 8-bit bike racer is already available in the Wii Shop through Excitebike, which has features like a custom course creator that this release lacks.

And, in closing, this review is dedicated to all of the "life riders" who have started out on the solitary trip to find their own individual limits. The end

Certain elements of this N64 edition of Mario Golf haven't held up as well as some would have hoped, in its transition to the Virtual Console -- the graphics, the characters, the lost connectivity. But, even then, it's undeniable that the core gameplay serving as the foundation of this experience has remained unaffected by its age. The simple, straightforward way to pick up and play, the multiple different modes, the ability to lose yourself in simply going for the green for hours on end -- it's all still here. And that makes Mario Golf a worthy candidate for download. If you've played and enjoyed any of the Hot Shots titles, or Toadstool Tour on the GameCube, or even just the free copy of W ii Sports Golf that came packed in with your system, give this N64 original a shot. You won't be disappointed.

The game has 12 levels in total and will take you a little while to complete. As with most games of this era there is no ability to save or password systems. When its game over, you simply have to start out all over again. Thankfully with the Virtual Console’s save state you can pick up from where you left off, this is a welcome addition. Extra lives can be picked up along the way to make things a bit easier, but do remember to watch out for the time limit on each level or your health will begin to drain; you can pick up some hourglasses along the way to counteract that.
Wonder Boy in Monster Land Screenshot
This really is one of the better Master System games, despite being a bit rough around the edges in some places it has aged really well. The game concept is nothing original, but the execution is unique and the whole game oozes charm throughout. It was bettered by the excellent Wonder Boy III on the Master System, but the two are vastly different games so this is worth checking out on its own merits. If you are at all curious, why not check it out today?

    http://www.wiiware-world.com/images/...4939/large.jpg
Same Game is a simple yet engrossing puzzle game where you clear matching blocks in sets of 2 or more. Score high by clearing out more blocks at once. If you manage to clear the entire grid, you can keep on playing with a whole new layout. Getting rid of all those blocks is the key to raking in the points! Adjust the difficulty in a one-player game by trying different grid sizes and numbers of colors. Play it your way!

Up to 4 players can face off in any one of 3 multiplayer modes. "Fame Game", the most straightforward choice, is similar to the one-player version. "Shame Game"" turns the tables on the players, forcing them to go for the lowest score. Finally, in "Blame Game", it's a free-for-all as everyone vies for blocks on one big grid.

Choose from among different block styles, background graphics, and music to customize your playing experience. Same Game: Easy to learn, easy to play... hard to put down!

Unless you are just a diehard Clayfighter fan, this is probably not a game that you're going to want to spend a lot of time with. It's just far too sluggish to be taken seriously by any hardcore fighting game fan and once the novelty of the claymation wears off, and it doesn't take long, all you're left with is an un-inpsired fighting game that's just not much fun to play. If you absolutely must have your Clayfighter fix, you'd be better off waiting for Clayfighter 63 1/3.

Diehard fans of the hedgehog hero will no doubt want to dive back in to this lesser-known 8-bit adventure and enjoy its handful of unique elements, like Tails' flight and Sonic's Emerald-hunting bonus stages. The rest of the Wii-owning world, though, would be perfectly fine without experiencing this one.

As the ninth different Sonic-related title to come to the Virtual Console thus far, there are several other ways to spend your Wii Points and get back a superior Sonic experience as return on your investment -- and that's what I'd recommend. Take the 500 you would have used here and, if you're in the mood for 8-bit Sonic, check out the Master System Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Otherwise, add three more bucks and grab one of the original Genesis trilogy. The Wii's definitely become a Sonic box, but that doesn't mean we have to drown in the overflow -- we can use the variety SEGA's offered us and pass by these lesser entries in favor of sticking with the Blue Blur's best.

Being the first FPS on WiiWare, Onslaught gives shooter fans the action you’ve been waiting for. Taking advantage of the precise motion controls of the Wii Remote, you’ll be in full command of your soldier as you tread through treacherous terrain. The action stays tight by aiming with the Wii Remote. You'll need steady hands if you're going to survive the horrors that await. When running low on ammo, give the Wii Remote a shake to get back in the game. When the odds get overwhelming, a supply of grenades will keep enemies at bay by throwing them using the Nunchuk. Get set to play an FPS unlike any you’ve ever played before!

A WiiWare conversion of Tomy's popular childrens' game.

In Pop-up Pirate, you are presented with a barrel containing a pirate. The objective is to take turns sticking swords into slits on the barrel - Inserting a sword into the incorrect slit (Only one of them is incorrect) will cause it to it hit the pirate, ejecting him from the barrel and ending the game. Basically this means there's a loser instead of a winner!!

Auf WiiWare-World wurde kürzlich ein Review veröffentlicht und das Spiel hat überraschend gut abgeschnitten: 9/10 Punkte.
Ein Multiplayermodus ist natürlich vorhanden (4 Spieler).

Onslaught provides an enjoyable single player experience. It has lots of unique features and is really fun to play. The Story Mode has a great deal of replay value due to its five difficulty settings and different ranks to achieve. The game really excels online and co-op is pretty much flawless. There is not lag to be found and the matchmaking is fast and without issues. Hudson has even provided online leaderboards on their website which should keep score freaks happy. The FPS genre is a perfect fit for the Wii, but due to the file size limit on WiiWare we never expected to see a downloadable one. Hudson has achieved the unthinkable and created an original and entertaining Japanese developed FPS which comes as a great surprise. This is a must-download for fans of the FPS genre, for only 1000 Wii points this is a real bargain.

Tomy has succeeded in converting Pop-Up Pirate! to a video game through the Pop-up Party game mode. Although it works well, it doesn’t go far enough due to a lack of variety in the gameplay. This is the case for the game as a whole, you’ll only get a few hours of entertainment out of it at maximum. Although limited fun can be had in multiplayer, each game feels far too similar to the last and unfortunately the game makes no effort to alleviate this repetition. As it is, Pop-Up Pirate is hard to recommend unless you adore the original children’s game and are in desperate need of some nostalgic fun.

Naja, ist wohl nur hartgesottenen Fans des Brettspiels zu empfehlen.

Wolf of the Battlefield MERCS (Megadrive) 800 Points

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...1062/large.jpg
Wolf of the Battlefield: MERCS, if taken strictly as a Genesis conversion of the Capcom arcade classic, would be found lacking -- it's not as visually spectacular as that original edition, and it also completely cuts out that version's multiplayer co-op capability. But, luckily, the SEGA team who ported the project took the time and invested the effort to offer gamers of the day fresh, new content to counterbalance the cutbacks -- and they succeeded. The included "Original Mode" here is so different that it's essentially its own separate game, and that makes the overall offering definitely worth consideration for your Wii Points.

Two games together for the price of one, with that price being just eight bucks, is not a bad deal at all. So if you're a run-and-gun fan who doesn't mind attacking the enemy alone, give the newly-renamed Wolf of the Battlefield: MERCS a serious look.

To be fair on those aspects it is no better or worse than the other entries, but the range of events is a little limiting to be honest. The fact there are two ice skating events merely compounds that to a degree, especially when they are probably the weakest part. The other five events however are much more worthy of practice and dedication, especially the Biathlon which is probably the strongest. Also as before, the game comes into a different realm when more than one person is taking part. If you enjoyed playing the other games already out on the VC, then you should definitely consider trying this one as well.

Snowboard Riot (1000 Wii Points) *Online und Balance Board Unterstützung*

ign score: 5.5 | 5/10 Sterne bei Wii Ware World

    http://www.wiiware-world.com/images/...4022/large.jpg
Snowboard Riot is quite an average game on the whole. If you are able to connect to other gamers online, you will certainly have some fun. However, you need to have a high frustration level if you are going to play this game. It is the type where the races are usually close and the chance to win or lose it all at the end is almost always a possibility. While this can be fun when it works your way, it is incredibly frustrating to be on the losing end. This game would have benefited from a reduced number of item pick-ups to help make the balance between fighting and racing more equal. As is, Snowboard Riot is an entertaining game but with its share of missed opportunities.

Let's face it, there's really only one reason to play this game in real life and we all know what that reason is. You'd have to be a little drunk to actually enjoy tossing ping pong balls into tiny cups on a table anyway - that or a few fries short of a Happy Meal. Unless you just have a sadistic side or want to gift this to someone you don't particularly like, you might want to pass on this lacklustre WiiWare title. At least Pong Toss is aptly named. After a few minutes of this game you'll definitely want to "toss" something.

Clu Clu Land (NES) 500 Points

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...2014/large.jpg
Classic gaming completionists out there are no doubt pleased that one more of the original NES launch titles has now arrived in the Wii Shop, but it's hard to imagine that too many more of you are all that excited about this release. It was a fine diversion when it showed up as a freebie to play in Animal Crossing, and it certainly even entertained the few gamers who got on board with the whole e-Reader thing when it showed up again in card form a few years ago. But at 500 Wii Points as a Virtual Console title, and with so many other, better games already available at that same rate, it's safe for you to spin right on past Clu Clu Land. You could even choose to buy Pac-Man instead..

keine ign Wertung | 3/10 Sterne bei VC Reviews

    http://www.vc-reviews.com/images/scr...5591/large.jpg
Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair is easily the weakest entry in the Wonder Boy canon and isn’t worth bothering with, even if you’re a fan of shooters and platformers. This unsuccessful fusion of the two disciplines singularly fails to impress and should be avoided in favour of other, more worthy, retro experiences. If you're still interested then we'd recommend you pick the TG-16 version over this, as it's slightly better and retails for the same 800 Wii price point.

    http://www.wiiware-world.com/images/...4825/large.jpg
If you're looking for a fun multiplayer game on Wii, Jungle Speed is a great choice. It's pricey by WiiWare standards -- 1,000 Wii Points feels like a lot to shell out for a glorified card game -- but it's still cheaper than any retail release. And I guarantee you that you'll have more fun with this title than you will any number of second-rate mini-game fests that sell for $20 or even $30 more. The production values are a cut above most WiiWare games and the multiplayer mode is truly addictive with three or more people. Just don't get it if you're playing alone.

You can do much better things with five dollars. Buy yourself some marbles. Buy your five friends some gum. Or maybe you'd like a yo- yo? I honestly don't care if you throw your five dollars (8€ in EU) in the trash. Just don't buy this game. Otherwise, there might be a sequel, I might have to play it, and I might have to kill myself. Seriously, even for five dollars, Family Table Tennis is offensive, epitomizing exactly the type of ambitionless software we don't want on WiiWare or on Wii.
Frechheit!!!, in Europa 300 Punkte teurer als in den USA!
